Apna Dal declares alliance with Samajwadi Party; SP didn’t confirm

Lucknow: Krishna Patel, the President of Apna Dal (Krishna group), that is headed by the estranged mother of Union Minister Anupriya Patel, has announced her party's alliance with the Samajwadi Party (SP).

Krishna Patel, who earlier in the day met with Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav, informed reporters that the party had finalised the alliance and that seat sharing will be discussed later. "We are prepared to go to whatever length to remove the BJP from office," she stated.

Notably, her estranged daughter Anupriya, who leads another Apna Dal faction, is an ally of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and serves as a Union minister. Ashish Patel, her spouse, is a member of the Legislative Council. The Samajwadi Party has not confirmed nor denied the development.
