Arjun Tendulkar makes Mumbai senior team debut, clears way for IPL

Mumbai: Arjun Tendulkar, son of the emerging left-arm pacer and master blaster Sachin Tendulkar, made his debut for Mumbai's senior team in the Elite E League group match of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy against Haryana in Mumbai on Friday. Arjun, the 21-year-old son of legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar, has now cleared his way to qualifying for the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction as he has made his debut for the Mumbai team.

Earlier, the Mumbai team won the toss and decided to bat first. Tendulkar Jr has been replaced in the Mumbai squad along with another fast bowler, Task Hanagawadi, who has been selected by the selection committee with Salil Ankola after allowing a total of 22 Indian cricket board players to be selected.

Arjun Tendulkar has been playing in group tournaments of different ages for Mumbai earlier and was also involved in the team that plays the invitational tournament. Arjun was also seen bowling in the net of India's national team and also represented India in the Under-19 team that toured Sri Lanka in 2018.
