Itanagar: Over two thousand individuals from the Tawang region of Arunachal Pradesh, primarily from the Monpa community, congregated at the Tsuglagkhang Tibetan temple in Dharamshala on Saturday to offer long-life prayers for the 14th Dalai Lama. The event saw the Dalai Lama in attendance, alongside members of the Tibetan community in exile and several prominent leaders from Arunachal Pradesh, including Chief Minister Pema Khandu, MP Tapir Gao, Education and Tourism Minister Pasang Dorjee, and MLA Zingnu Namchoom. Tsering Dicky, a follower from Tawang, expressed the significance of the occasion, stating, "We have come here to offer long-life prayers for His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Our Chief Minister and other leaders are also here as it's an important event for all of us." Following the prayer ceremony, the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) organized a felicitation event to welcome the Arunachal Pradesh leaders. Sikyong Pempa Tsering, President of the CTA, extended his gratitude to the leaders and people of Arunachal Pradesh for their support and organization of the long-life prayer event. During his address, CM Pema Khandu shared his experience of meeting the Dalai Lama and praised the CTA for their commitment to the Tibetan cause, highlighting the deep bond between the people of Tibet and Arunachal Pradesh.
