Video: 'I'll clean the Yamuna, will take a dip too,' CM Kejriwal reiterated 2015 promise

New Delhi: Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has now expressed concern after facing a lot of criticism over the Yamuna mess. Addressing a press conference on Thursday, he said that the Yamuna is very dirty, all Delhiites and countrymen want the Yamuna to be clean. He also announced his plan for six action points on cleaning the Yamuna. Kejriwal said that the cleaning of Yamuna will be completed by 2025 and then I will take a dip in the Yamuna with everyone. Though CM Kejriwal had said the same thing in 2015, he could not complete his point.

Kejriwal said sewers are obliterated in the Yamuna without cleaning. We have 600 MGD sewer cleaning capacity, but we need 750-800 MGD. We are working to build new sewer treatment plants, increase the strength of old plants and change technology, he said. He said 4 dirty drains are seen in the river Yamuna in Delhi. The drains are being cleaned there with the core of the new technology. Work on Najafgarh, Ghazipur, Badshahpur drain has started. The CM said the garbage of the industry is cleaned on paper. But now it will be nailed and the industry which does not send waste will be banned. CM Kejriwal further said that slum toilets will be prevented from shedding in rain drains and connected to sewers.

He said that there are a lot of areas where sewer network has been laid, but many people have not taken sewer connection and they throw direct dirt into the drain. The Delhi government has decided that we will install sewer connections to people's homes on our own and whatever is the normal fee will be charged. At the same time, he said that work will be done on strengthening the desilting of sewers. CM Kejriwal said he will clean the River Yamuna by February 2025 and I will take a dip with everyone.

Kumar Biswas taunted:-

It may be mentioned that Kavi Kumar Biswas, who was once Arvind Kejriwal's colleague, had also lashed out at CM Kejriwal for the filth in the Yamuna during Chhath Puja. Kumar Vishwas had also shared a video of him. It was mentioned that Arvind Kejriwal has been repeatedly promising since 2015 that he will clean the Yamuna and take a dip with you himself. But Kejriwal failed completely to keep his promise.
