Gujarat elections: Kejriwal will go to Surat to thank AAP's blistering entry in BJP

New Delhi: While the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has captured all the six municipal corporations on the one hand in the Gujarat civic elections, on the other hand, the Aam Aadmi Party has made a blistering entry in Gujarat. The results of the civic elections on Tuesday encouraged Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal to visit Surat on 26 February to thank the public.

AAP national president Arvind Kejriwal said on Wednesday that, on February 26, I will go out to thank the people, who have helped AAP emerge as the main opposition party and rejected the Congress. At the same time, AAP leaders said that CM Arvind Kejriwal will do a roadshow in Surat, where AAP has won 27 seats in the local body elections. AAP's official Twitter handle has been told that 'AAP's national convenor Arvind Kejriwal will visit Gujarat on 26 February 2021.' He will express his gratitude to the people for expressing confidence in the model of development of AAP in a grand road show.

Out of the total 120 seats of the Surat Municipal Corporation, where the BJP won 93 seats, the Aam Aadmi Party won 27 seats. Whereas, the Congress, which was the main opposition party here last time, could not even open an account here this time. The Congress won 36 seats in Surat in the December 2015 local elections, while the BJP's lotus blossomed in 79 seats. In this case, if you compare with the last time, then the BJP's performance in this election has seen improvement.
