CM Sarma meets family members of those killed in grenade blast, announces compensation

Guwahati: Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma arrived to meet the families of two people killed in Friday's grenade blast. He consoled the families of those killed in the attack. Cm Sarma also announced an assistance of Rs 5 lakh to the family members. Cm Sarma also visited the blast site.

In fact, a grenade blast took place in the oil township at Digboi in Tinsukia district of Assam on Friday. Surjit Talukdar and Sanjeev Singh lost their lives in the attack. At the same time, some are still said to be injured. CM Himanta Biswa Sarma met surjit and Sanjeev's family on Saturday. No organisation has so far taken responsibility for the attack even after a day of the attack. Union Home Minister Amit Shah had held a phone call with chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma after the blast on Friday. The CM has directed assam police to take strict action against the accused who carried out the attack and arrest them at the earliest.

Meanwhile, the banned united liberation front of asom-independent (ULFA-I) has declared a unilateral ceasefire for the next three months on Saturday. Paresh Barua alias Paresh Asom, on behalf of the organization, issued a press release on Saturday saying that ULFA-I have halted all their operations for the next three months due to corona infection.
