Assam Rifles Organizes National Integration Tour for Cadets in North Eastern Region

Guwahati: A week-long National Integration Tour of the North Eastern Region was organized by Assam Rifles, welcoming a group of 47 cadets and two teachers, including 10 girls. The tour, spanning from April 3 to 10, aimed to deepen the understanding of the North Eastern states among the participants.

During the tour, the cadets visited the Directorate General Assam Rifles Headquarters at Laitkor, engaging in interactive sessions with Lt General PC Nair, the Director General of Assam Rifles and an alumnus of the same school. A highlight of their visit was a surprise reception at Assam Rifles House, where the Assam Rifles Jazz Band performed the school song 'Hum Bharat Ke Chand Sitare', leaving the cadets enthralled.

The cadets also attended a cultural programme at the Rai auditorium in Assam Rifles, witnessing performances by artists from various states showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the region. Additionally, they visited prominent locations in Meghalaya, including Shillong Peak and Cherrapunji.

Moving to Dimapur, the cadets visited the Assam Rifles Training Centre & School, interacted with the officers and men, and witnessed a cultural programme at 7 Assam Rifles located at Ghaspani. They further visited the Inspectorate General Assam Rifles (North) and witnessed a lecture & demonstration showcasing the epic battle of Kohima.

At the Kohima War Cemetery, the cadets paid their respects and interacted with Major General Manish Kumar, Inspector General (North). They expressed gratitude to Assam Rifles for the memorable experience, acknowledging the tour's role in promoting understanding of different cultures and fostering community engagement.

Such National Integration Tours serve as a bridge to connect people from diverse backgrounds, promoting mutual respect and understanding. They reinforce the importance of unity in diversity and celebrate the rich tapestry of India's cultures.
