Lucknow: After the murder of former Samajwadi Party (SP) MP and mafia Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf Ahmed, the ongoing cases against them will be dropped. That means the files of the cases registered against Atiq-Ashraf will now be closed forever. 104 cases are going on against Mafia Atiq and 54 against Ashraf. Final reports have been filed in some cases. At the same time, investigation is still going on in many cases. Even now more than 50 cases are pending in the court. But, after the murder of the mafia brothers in police custody on April 15, there is no justification left for these cases to continue. When the death report is filed in the court by the investigators, the court will seal the closure of the cases. However, apart from Atiq and Ashraf, the case against other accused will continue.
