Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi's attacks, says, 'Congress promoting extremism, calling itself secular'

New Delhi: Senior BJP leader and Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi has attacked the Congress party over agreements with Jamaat e Islami and the Popular Front of India (PFI). Naqvi accuses Congress of promoting extremism. Naqvi also targeted RJD leader Tejasvi Yadav.

Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said, "You will remember when former Congress President Rahul Gandhi was contesting from Wayanad, the country was amazed at why the flags of Jamaat-e-Islami are appearing more than the Congress in Wayanad". He alleged that the Congress is promoting extremism through organizations like Jamaat-e-Islami and PFI. Naqvi said, "Even in the agreements that are being seen with Jamaat-e-Islami and PFI, the Congress should tell you what is the compulsion?"

Naqvi also targeted the Congress and RJD alliance in Bihar and said, "I would like to ask Tejasvi Yadav whether the RJD, like the Congress, has also entered into an agreement with Jamaat-e-Islami and PFI?" The Congress in Kerala has joined hands with Jamaat-e-Islami for the local body elections. The Congress-led UDF has aligned with the Jamaat-e-Islami Political Faction Welfare Party of India (WPI) for the forthcoming body elections in Kerala.
