The series of 3 T20 matches between AUS and WI played in October this year has been canceled. Cricket Australia (CA) gave the above information on Tuesday. The CA and WI Cricket Board have agreed to cancel the T20 series to be held in Queensland in October. The match was scheduled to be played on 4, 6 and 9 October in Townsville, Cairns and Gold Coast respectively. The series was released as practice for both teams ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup, but the T-20 World Cup has been canceled due to a Covid epidemic. CA said in an official statement, "We had held a 3-match T-20 series against the West Indies as a practice before the T20 World Cup in October, but now we have teamed up with the WI Cricket Board to cancel the series." The International Cricket Council (ICC) had already confirmed that the T20 World Cup will not be held this year. In September, Australia will play 3 ODIs and 3 T20 matches against England. On the other hand, WI has recently played a 3-match Test series against England in a bio-safe environment.
