Australia's limited-overs captain Aaron Finch has accepted that his Test career is over. Finch feels that now his red ball will not return to cricket and it is now unrealistic. Finch, who is in England for the series of 3 ODIs and 3 T20 matches, has reported that he cannot get enough first-class matches to claim a spot in the Australian Test team. However, he wants to compete in Test cricket before his last retirement. Finch has said that the one-day World Cup to be held in India in 2023 will be his last assignment. He said, "In the context of red ball cricket, I don't think I am thinking of playing Test cricket again." Finch has said, "Based on just two things: the opportunity to play 4-day cricket and to gain a place, I think, it can be really limited. He said, "The young batsmen are constantly playing first class and they are coming into the team. There are some delicate and good players in Australia, especially the top-order batsmen who can make a place in the team." Finch has played only 5 Test matches in his career, while he has participated in 126 ODIs and 61 T20 Internationals. He has further explained, "The depth of talent is really strong right now, so I don't think there is a chance ahead." The 33-year-old opener Aaron Finch has always been victorious on the tour of England. He is just 28 runs away from completing 1000 runs against England in ODIs. Only Ricky Ponting, Adam Gilchrist and Michael Clarke have scored more ODI runs than them in England. Finch has said that the secret behind this success is that he has played in England early in his career and it is a familiar place for him.
