Ayodhya: extension of Ram Janmabhoomi premises; trust buys 7,285-sqft land for Rs 1 Cr

Ayodhya: The Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra has purchased 7,285 square feet of land nearby to the Ram Janmabhoomi premises here, in accordance with its plan to expand the temple complex area to 107 acres from the present 70 acres, an official of the trust said on Thursday.

The land that will achieve the dreams of millions of Hindus just got bigger after the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust purchased the said land.

The Trust, which has been given the responsibility to construct the grand temple for Lord Ram in the holy Uttar Pradesh town, has paid Rs 1 crore for the plot of land, at a rate of Rs 1,373 per square foot, to its owner, an official of the trust said on Thursday

“We have purchased the land as we need more space for the Ram temple,” trustee Anil Mishra told to PTI. The new land that’s been purchased by the trust is adjacent to the Asharfi Bhawan, an ancient temple of Shri Laxminarayani.

The main temple will be built on 5 acres of land and the remaining land will be used to develop various facilities, including a museum and a library.
