Badminton : Malaysia player Lee Zii Jia won All England Open Men’s Title

On Sunday, Malaysia's 22-year-old Lee Zii Jia won the All England Open men's title. By winning this match he created history as he became first Malaysian to win this title. In the match, he beats defending champion Viktor Axelsen of Denmark in the summit clash. Let us share that Lee Zii Jia, who had defeated world number one Momota Kento on Friday, beat Axelsen 30-29, 20-22, 21-9 in a more than thrilling match which lasted for one hour and 14 minutes.

For your information let us share that the win for Lee Zii Jia also meant that he became the first Malaysian since Lee Chong Wei in 2017 to win the title.  Lee Zii Jia's pace against Axelsen was the highlight of the match. He fought valiantly with his stinging smashes and had all the right moves to frustrate the Danish star. Zii Jia had a chance of winning the match in straight games but it did not take him long to beat his opponent in the third and decisive set. He had saved his best for the final few minutes as he completely bambozled Axelsen to race to the 21 points and end his four year title drought.
