Bahubali MLA gets a big blow, gets 10 years in jail

Patna: The court's verdict in the Arms Act case against Bihar's Bahubali MLA Anant Singh has come. Bihar's opposition RJD's Bahubali MLA Anant Singh has been sentenced to 10 years in jail by an MP-MLA court in connection with the AK-47 case. Anant Singh, the RJD MLA from Mokama, was convicted by the MP-MLA court on June 14. The court has now also announced the quantum of punishment in the case against Anant Singh. Special Judge Triloki Dubey of mp-MLA court announced the sentence of 10 years imprisonment to Anant Singh.

With the 10-year sentence awarded by the court, it is now believed that Anant Singh's assembly membership is scheduled to go. It is worth mentioning that this case against Anant Singh is of the year 2019. Based on information received then about smuggling of arms, the police had raided the house of Anant Singh at Ladma village in Mokama. The raid, led by the then ASP Lipi Singh, went on for about 11 hours.

Due to this marathon raid of the same police, an AK-47 along with 26 rounds of bullets, a magazine and a hand grenade were also recovered from Nant Singh's house. After this raid, Anant Singh had fled. The Bihar Police was on the lookout for Anant Singh, while they were dodging the police and releasing one video after another on social media. There was also a hue and cry of the Bihar Police over this. Anant Singh surrendered in the Saket court in Delhi on August 24, 2019, after playing the game of hide-and-seek with bihar police for 3-4 days. Lipi Singh, the then ASP of Barh, who led the raid at anant singh's house after he surrendered in the saket court, had also gone to Delhi himself. Anant Singh was flooded amidst tight security and was produced before the court.
