Daughter performed father's last rites and wore the turban in Pagdi ceremony

Several types of incidents are coming out for the last few days. Meanwhile, the daughter of Bairagarh, after the death of her father, did not lose courage. Playing the role of the son, he set his father's pyre on fire. After that, she wore the turban in the Padgi ceremony and vowed to carry forward the legacy of her father. Moolchand Daswani, a resident of Laxman Nagar, died three days ago.

Mr Daswani was infected with COVID19. He died during treatment at Viva Hospital. The whole family saddened by the death, but daughter Kirti Daswani did not give up. The daughter not only encouraged her mother and siblings but also decided to perform the funeral. Following the guidelines, Kirti performed the last rites of her father.

Moolchand's well-wishers were shocked to see a girl among the four members sitting for the Pagdi. In Sindhi society, four members of the family sit in the Pagdi ceremony of the deceased. Brahmins perform the ritual of giving a turban and handing over the family heritage.

This was probably the first time in Bairagarh when the daughter has also worn a turban in a Pagdi ceremony. According to Madhu Chandwani, the general secretary of Pujya Sindhi Panchayat, there are many examples where the daughter performed the last rites of the father, but this is the first time, we have seen a daughter conducting the Pagdi. Every single person who saw this scene was surprised.
