Those who could not even teach in schools, such people were sent to university by 'Partha'

Kolkata: Former Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Baisakhi Banerjee has made several shocking revelations about former West Bengal minister Partha Chatterjee. He claimed that during Chatterjee's tenure, people got direct admission to educational institutions. Baisakhi has also served as the general secretary of the West Bengal College and Universities Professors' Association (WBCUPA).

Baisakhi Banerjee said, "It was strange to see how student leaders, who came from ordinary backgrounds, suddenly became powerful and big names in the education department. A syndicate was operating among the West Bengal College University Professors Association (WBCUPA), every single post in the university was to sell and every single one was priced. Because of Partha Chatterjee, such people came directly to the university, who could not even teach in the school.'' Baisakhi Banerjee has said that she placed the matter before Partha Chatterjee, but to no avail.

He said, ''Thieves were getting jobs because of Partha Chatterjee. I tried to take action, suspended a person accused of corruption and reprimanded those who were involved in this. After a few days, I realized that it was all a mask. After a few days, the same people started coming back into the field of education in a more powerful way. I understood that corruption would not be eradicated and the situation kept getting worse.'' Banerjee said that ''Partha Chatterjee does not consider anyone above himself, even he did not consider party supremo and CM Mamata Banerjee as bigger than himself. Partha misused his position several times. Took over the entire education department. He did all the corruption for himself.''
