India's leading automobile manufacturer Bajaj Auto has officially registered the design of its electric scooter Chetak electric in Europe. Explain that the patent of Chetak Electric has been registered with the Intellectual Property Office of the European Union (EUIPO). The registration was filed in February this year and the Pune-based vehicle manufacturer got the validity of registration by November 2029. Bajaj launched the scooter in the Indian market in January this year and soon after the launch, managed to get more than 2,000 bookings in just 15 days. The company had earlier said that it is evaluating the possibilities of making it a global scooter. In this way, after getting this patent from Bajaj, rival brands outside India will not be able to copy Chetak's design. The electric scooter Chetak is available in two variants in the market. Entry-level Urbane variants and top-end Premium variants. This e-scooter gets a 3.8kW power and 4.1kW peak power electric motor. The rear wheels get power due to the special automatic transmission provided in the scooter. Chetak e-scooter gets 3kWh lithium-ion battery. After full charging, this scooter can cover a range of 95 km in Eco mode and 85 km in the Sport mode. Apart from this, Bajaj Auto has resumed operations at Chetak Electric's service centres located in Pune and Bangalore. The company has said that its service centres and the company's customers will follow the guidelines and health protocols issued by the touchpoints. Bajaj Auto has not given any information about resuming the sale of e-scooter. Production has started at Bajaj's Chakan plant from the first week of May, so it is expected that its sales will also resume soon.
