Bangalore bans the Sale and slaughter of meat on Buddha Purnima

Karnataka- Bangalore: The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has banned the sale and slaughter of meat in Bengaluru in honour of Buddha Purnima.

The BBMP had previously prohibited animal slaughter and the sale of meat on Ram Navami. The birth of Gautam Buddha, the founder of Buddhism, is commemorated on Buddha Purnima. It will be observed on May 16 this year.

Bengaluru prohibits the selling of meat on the following days: -Martyrs’ Day (Jan 3), Mahashivratri (March 1), Sri Rama Navami (April 10), Mahaveer Jayanti (April 14) , Buddha Purnima (May 16), Krishna Janmasthami (August 19), Ganesh Chaturthi (August 31), Gandhi Jayanti (October 2)., Sadhu Vaswani Jayanti (November 25).

Direct flight will start between Kashi and Kathmandu from May 23, ticket booking will start from now.
