Varanasi: Direct flight from Kashi, the city of Baba Vishwanath to Nepal's capital Kathmandu, is going to start this month. This will make it easier for the pilgrims to visit Baba Vishwanath and Pashupatinath for worship. Till now one had to go to Varanasi and Kathmandu via Delhi. Buddha Airlines will start flight service from May 23. With the introduction of direct flights, not only the people of Kashi and Purvanchal will get relief, but people of Bihar, Jharkhand and Madhya Pradesh will also be able to come here and go to Nepal by direct flight.

Buddha Airlines has announced to start flight service from Kashi to Kathmandu on Wednesday. The schedule of the airline has also been released. Buddha Airlines flight will take off from Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu at 7:15 PM and land at Babatpur Airport in Varanasi at 7:55 PM. The same aircraft will leave from Varanasi at 8:45 pm and reach Kathmandu airport at 9:25 pm. Airlines officials have informed that flight ticket booking has been started. Its starting fare will be Rs 6000. Due to the flexible fare, the fare can increase or decrease.

Till now, about 12 thousand fare had to be paid on commuting via Delhi. With the introduction of direct flights, about half the fare will be saved. Currently, flights will be operated twice a week on Mondays and Fridays. Airport Director Aryama Sanyal has told that after getting permission from the Civil Aviation Port Authority, the schedule of the aircraft has been issued.
