Rahul Gandhi takes big decision, canceled all his election rallies due to corona

New Delhi: Former President of this Central Congress, Rahul Gandhi has announced the cancellation of all his election meetings in West Bengal in view of the circumstances of corona, which he has tweeted and reported. Actually, there is a big campaign for the West Bengal Assembly elections, in which thousands of people are gathering. Voting for the fifth phase has been held here on the previous day and elections for three phases are yet to be held. Overall, elections are to be held in Bengal in eight phases and the results will be declared on May 2.

 

 

Rahul Gandhi tweeted, "Given the situation in corona, I am canceling all my public rallies in West Bengal. I would advise all political leaders to think deeply about the outcome of holding large public rallies in the current situation".

The highest ever 7,713 new cases of corona were reported in West Bengal on Saturday, raising the total number of infected cases to 6,51,508 in the state. The health department reported this in a bulletin. After 34 more deaths in the state, the death toll rose to 10,540. There were 1,998 new cases and 10 deaths in Kolkata city. In the last 24 hours, 3,426 patients were cured of the disease in the state. Since Friday, 45,330 samples have been screened for detection of coronavirus infection.
