Kolkata: A scuffle broke out between Indian Secular Front (ISF) workers and police in West Bengal's capital Kolkata on Saturday (January 21). Police had to resort to lathi-charge to control the crowd. Along with this, tear gas shells were also fired. Its video has also surfaced. Several policemen and those involved in the protest are said to be injured in the clash. So far, 19 people have been arrested in this case. According to reports, ISF activists were protesting in the Esplanade area on Saturday evening. They alleged that TMC workers attacked their workers during a rally. Some of their workers were injured. Due to this, they were demanding the arrest of TMC leader Arbul Islam. Thousands of people were present at the demonstration. During this, there was a jam on the road. The police appealed to the protesters to clear the road, but they refused to obey. Kolkata Police resorted to a lathi-charge to control the crowd. Meanwhile, ISF leader and MLA Naushad Siddiqui was taken into custody. Earlier on Saturday, there was a clash between TMC and ISF workers in the Bhangar area of the state.
