Lockdown extends till 31 August in this state

Kolkata: The complete lockdown was announced in West Bengal two days a week. But now, under this state, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has announced the days of complete lockdown. After the complete lockdown on Wednesday (July 29, 2020) this week, the next lockdown is going to happen on August 5 (Wednesday). In this way, the entire state is going to have a lockdown for 7 days in August.

The lockdown in the state has now been extended from 31 July to 31 August 2020. On Tuesday, the state government announced a complete lockdown for 9 days, and shortly after that, the state home department tweeted, 'The entire lockdown of August 2 and 9 has been withdrawn'. The state government has announced a complete lockdown 9 days in August to prevent the rising coronavirus infection in the state. Keeping in mind the Eid, Rakhi and Independence Day, the entire lockdown in the state is followed by Wednesday (July 29, 2020), August 5 (Wednesday), August 8 (Saturday), August 16 (Sunday), August 17 (Monday), August 23. (Sunday), 24 August (Monday), and 31 August (Monday). The lockdown in the state has now been increased from 31 July to 31 August. Common lockdown rules will be applicable on the days where there is no complete lockdown.

The state Home Department has given information by tweeting, 'The entire lockdown of the upcoming August 2 (Sunday) and August 9 (Sunday) has been withdrawn.' In its tweet, the Home Department has said that after the announcement of the entire lockdown, the state government was being appealed to various quarters to not lock down on some dates as it is the day of celebration and important community events. Therefore the state government is withdrawing the lockdown of August 2 and 9.
