Bengaluru man circulates suspect’s pic on WhatsApp to find mother's killers

Bengaluru: A 55-year-old specially challenged man has taken upon himself to find the murderers of his mother. The man, Anil Kumar Sultania, has circulated a suspect's photograph to thousands of people on Whatsapp. The photo was retrieved from CCTV footage. A 70-year-old home alone woman, Santosh Devi Sultania, was found dead at her residence at KS Garden in Wilson area on February 5. The incident came to light after the deceased woman's daughter, who lives in Chennai, alerted her father when she didn't pick up the phone.

The elderly woman's body was discovered by her husband Naurang Lal Sultania at Leesa Apartments in the evening. The woman was living with her husband and son at the first floor of the apartment. The family belongs to Rajasthan and was staying in the Bengaluru since 1971. The deceased woman's son claims he has circulated the photo to around 30,000 people.

According to a report in the Times of India, DCP D Devaraja (central) said Sampangirama Nagar police has formed a team to probe the case in a time-bound manner. The DCP also said police have summoned a number of suspects and questioned them in connection with the case. According to the police reports, a number of Naurang Lal's family friends, relatives, neighbours and office staff have been questioned in connection with the case.

In the meantime, Anil Sultania has also met several senior police officials asking them to speed up the probe in the case. He asked the police officials to set up a special team to probe the case as local police must have been busy with election and IPL matches security.
