New Delhi: The country is under the fury of the second wave of corona virus. The vaccination rate of the country had also slowed down over the past few days. The main reason behind this was the supply of vaccines. Adequate quantity of vaccines were not being supplied to the States. But now this problem seems to be going away soon because the States will no longer have to rely on the Centre for supply of vaccines. Bharat Biotech has informed that it has started sending vaccines directly to 14 States and Union Territories including Delhi. Vaccine maker Bharat Biotech has announced that it has started supplying vaccine to states from May 1. According to Suchitra Ella, joint managing director of the company, Bharat Biotech has started direct supply of its corona vaccine 'covaccine' to 14 states including Delhi and Maharashtra from May 1. The Hyderabad-based firm has started supplying its COVID-19 treatment vaccine to the states based on the allocation received by the Central Government. Ella tweeted, "India Biotech will directly supply COVAXIN to states based on allocation received by the Government of India from 1st May, 2021 onwards. Requests have also been received from other States, and action will be taken for distribution of vaccine based on availability of stock".
