Big decision of Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel, huge cut in VAT of petrol and diesel

Raipur: A major decision was taken at a cabinet meeting led by CM Bhupesh Baghel in Chhattisgarh. In the meeting, CM Bhupesh Baghel announced a cut of 2 per cent in VAT on diesel and 1 per cent on petrol in the state. According to information provided by chhattisgarh CMO, the decision will cost the government Rs 1000 crore.

Tell us that petrol is being sold at Rs 101.86 and diesel at Rs 93.77 per litre in raipur, the state capital. While petrol prices range from Rs 95.26 to Rs 109.96 and diesel from Rs 86.80 to Rs 94.61 per litre in neighbouring states. In that case, the Congress government in the state was under pressure to reduce the VAT. After which, on behalf of Commercial Taxes Minister TS Singhdev, the department had recently sent a proposal to the government with comparative data on VAT, reduction and rate-VAT in the neighbouring state. After which a decision was taken in the Cabinet meeting today.

Cm Bhupesh Baghel launched the CG camp portal before the meeting. The portal is an online advanced platform to monitor priority schemes of the state government. The portal will mainly monitor the Godhan Nyaya Yojana, Mukhyamantri Haat Bazar Clinic Scheme, Mukhyamantri Suposhan Abhiyan, CGE District, Mukhyamantri Shahari Slum Swasthya Yojana, Narwa, Garwa, Ghurwa, Bari Yojana, which are mainly among the top priority schemes of the government.
