New Delhi: The apex court has raised questions about the difference between official figures in the number of orphans and homeless children and the national commission for protection of child rights figures times during the lockdown imposed due to corona. The Supreme Court quoted the data in the documents it had received and questioned whether the government was spending Rs 10 lakh under various schemes for 645 children. The court said that the NCPCR, the Commission for Protection of Child Rights, is reporting 6855 such orphans from March 2020 to July 2021. The court said that we are constantly insisting that the schemes be implemented immediately. The apex court questioned the question and said that these figures seem to vary greatly between what the government says and does. The apex court said that the government announces the projects but is stuck in implementing them. The apex court said that the districts have child reform centers, child protection centers, the entire army of their officers, but the figures and reality are different. Assistant Solicitor General (ASG) Aishwarya Bhati defended the government in the Supreme Court.
