Patna: All government employees in Bihar had earlier sworn not to drink alcohol. On Monday, they once again vowed that they would not consume alcohol. For this, they have written on an affidavit saying that they will never consume alcohol.

According to an order issued by the government, employees in all government offices have sworn not to drink alcohol. Though he had been sworn in earlier, they sworn back once at the behest of the government. Also, the affidavit gave a self-declaration of non-consumption of alcohol and if they have cought drinking then they will get punishment.

In fact, the incidence of alcoholism in Bihar has increased considerably. The smuggling of liquor has increased considerably these days even after the enactment of the Prevention of Alcoholism Act and the issue of drinking alcohol has come to light in some government offices. Subsequently, the state government has taken this step to take action on this.
