Patna: In the case of more than 70 deaths due to spurious liquor in Bihar, the police has got a big success. The police have arrested 5 criminals including the homeopathy compounder, the mastermind of the liquor case. According to Saran Superintendent of Police Santosh Kumar, the police had formed a special team to investigate the matter. On Friday, this team itself arrested the compounder along with his associates. The SP said that the police have also recovered a vehicle, which was used to bring chemicals from UP and supply liquor to Masrakh in Saran and its surrounding areas. Apart from this, empty bottles of chemicals used in making spurious liquor have also been recovered from the spot. Even before this SIT has arrested 9 persons in this case. Initial investigation has revealed that the mastermind compounder used to make spurious liquor by mixing homeopathy medicine and sugar with the help of his accomplices. The criminals used to supply illegal liquor in many areas of the Saran district through their vendors and accomplices. The 9 persons who were arrested earlier by the police have accepted the fact of making and supplying spurious liquor from homeopathy medicines due to interrogation. The SP said that one of the criminals had also consumed the same spurious liquor, but he survived after treatment. According to the police, a large number of empty bottles of chemicals used in making spurious liquor have been recovered from the Dola area of Saran. The investigation of the case is going on. Let us tell you that after the tragedy, there were allegations that liquor kept inside a police station in Saran district was responsible for it. But Bihar Police's Additional Director General of Police Headquarters (ADG) Jitendra Singh Gangwar has denied these allegations. The ADG said that it has come to the fore in the investigation that none of the liquor kept inside Saran's police station was used to make spurious liquor. Any other chemical can be used to make alcohol. At present, the viscera report of the deceased is awaited. Let us tell you that since 2016 there is a ban on the sale and use of liquor in Bihar.
