This smuggling of drugs into India was taking place from Pakistan, in which 5 policemen were betraying the country by backstabbing their duty. The Jammu and Kashmir Police have arrested 17 people linked to the racket from different areas of Kupwara and Baramulla. Including 5 policemen. The arrested accused include a local politician, a contractor, and a businessman. The police also recovered 2 kg of heroin from their possession. State DGP Dilbag Singh has informed that action will be taken against all those found involved in such activities, irrespective of the department they belong to. We will deal with this challenge of drugs in the same way that we have faced the challenge of terrorism.
According to media reports, Kupwara SSP Yugal Manhas, while giving information about the module, has informed that the owner of a poultry shop had received information that some narcotic substance was kept in his house. After this, he was arrested with drugs. Investigation revealed that the arrested poultry shop owner was part of a larger gang of drug trafficking. The arrested person had revealed the names of some drug peddlers and some associates from the Baramulla district. The SSP has informed that with the busting of this drug smuggling racket, the direct involvement of Pakistan-based terrorist operators in Kashmir has once again been exposed. Â
In fact, Pakistan-based terrorist handler Shakir Ali Khan used to supply drugs to his son Tehmeed Khan in India. Earlier on Thursday (December 22), the police along with security forces arrested five terrorist associates of the terrorist organization Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) in the forest area of Kupwara district. The security forces had recovered a large number of arms and ammunition from them.
