Coolie arrested for drinking alcohol, beaten to death in custody

Patna: The Excise Department arrested a porter, who has now died custody in Patna. The man named Rajesh Pandey, who used to work as a porter at the bus stand, was arrested by the Excise Department on charges of drinking alcohol. The excise department is accused of beating Rajesh brutally, after which he died.

It is alleged that the excise department kept him in custody, where he was brutally beaten. He was then rushed to Beur Jail on Tuesday evening, where his health deteriorated on Friday, after which the prison administration sent prisoner Rajesh to PMCH for better treatment where he died during treatment today. After this incident, Rajesh's family members said that the police had taken him on the charge of drinking alcohol and he was so beaten up. The family further said that the government should conduct the culprits in this case and provide justice to the whole family, now the question arises why Rajesh was beaten so much for the mere drinking of alcohol that he died due to injury.

The family said that Rajesh had bruises all over his body. Let us know that the liquor ban law implemented by CM Nitish Kumar is being abused in the state. In such a situation, the government employee has been accused of misusing the law many times.
