New Delhi: BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra has now come out clean following allegations levelled by delhi's Kejriwal government over supply of vaccine at the Centre. Patra said the Delhi government is trying to spread confusion among the people that the Centre supplied doses of 65 million vaccines free of cost to other countries. Patra further said, 'As of May 11, 2021, about 6.63 crore vaccine doses were sent out of the country. Only 17 million vaccines have been sent as help. The remaining 84 per cent of the vaccine has been sent as a liability, which you had to do no matter who had the government'. Patra added, 'The covishield vaccine is being manufactured in India today only after getting the lines of astrazeneca. WHO Facility also has a big hand in this. The contract was signed by all countries. It mandates exporting 30 per cent of the vaccine. If we don't make these contracts, we don't get vaccination facility in India'. The Delhi government has been constantly seeking a vaccine formula from the Centre so that other companies can also produce. Sambit Patra said, 'This is not a formula that someone gave it to and he made a vaccine at home. Or any company should make a vaccine in your home. There are a lot of topics behind it. Covishield does not have an India license, its license is with Estrazeneca. Estrezeneca has allowed the Serum Institute to make the vaccine. This company cannot give formulas to anyone else in India any more'.
