Lucknow: On August 24, BJP has announced Jayaprakash Nishad as the candidate for the Rajya Sabha by-election. After the death of SP leader Beni Prasad Verma, one seat of Rajya Sabha has become vacant in Uttar Pradesh for which BJP has declared a candidate. According to the election process of the Rajya Sabha, the victory of the BJP candidate on the by-election seats is certain. Speculations were being made as to whom the BJP would declare candidates. After the formation of the government under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi at the Center in the year 2014, political adjustment has been made by sending senior leaders of other states from Delhi to Rajya Sabha seats of the state. Manohar Parikar and Arun Jaitley were also included in this. Other Rajya Sabha members from Uttar Pradesh are Chief Minister Hardeep Puri and BJP National Spokesperson GVL Narasimha Rao from Andhra Pradesh. With this, many changes can be made. On the other hand, Shri Krishna Janmashtami will be celebrated in the state as per the guidelines issued regarding Corona this time. DGP Hiteshchandra Awasthi has sent a letter to all field officers instructing to make comprehensive arrangements for security. The DGP has told the officials that the police should make people aware to follow social distancing through loudspeakers. The police station and the CO have been given clear instructions to take the smallest incident seriously and take appropriate and immediate action. The DGP has also asked for monitoring of mixed population and sensitive areas with drone cameras.
