Bengal: BJP Leaders Meet Presiden, Demand CBI Probe In MLA's Death

Politics has been escalating due to the death of Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Debendra Nath Roy from Hemtabad in Uttar Dinajpur district of Bengal. While the state Bharatiya Janata Party has called a 12-hour North Bengal bandh today, on the other hand, a delegation led by the National General Secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party and in-charge of Bengal Kailash Vijayvargiya has discussed with Delhi President Ramnath Kovind on Tuesday.

The delegation submitted a memorandum to the President demanding a CBI probe into the alleged murder of the Bharatiya Janata Party MLA due to the law and order situation in Bengal and the increasing incidents of violence. The leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party demanded the President's intervention in this case. Also, apart from Kailash Vijayvargiya, the delegation included co-supervisor Arvind Menon, MP from Darjeeling Raju Bisht, Union Minister of State Babul Supriyo, Rajya Sabha member Swapan Dasgupta.

It is to be noted that after meeting the President, BJP General Secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya told that till now the Bharatiya Janata Party workers were being killed in Bengal, but now even the MLA is not being spared. Even after the murder, now an attempt is being made to show suicide. There is a situation of chaos in Bengal. Also, Vijayvargiya told that he has told the President that we do not trust any investigating agency of the state government. That is why we have demanded a CBI inquiry. He has also expressed the possibility of any role of the city's police SP in this murder.
