Hyderabad: On Saturday, BJP MLA Alleti Maheshwar Reddy alleged a major corruption scandal involving the central government’s drinking water scheme in Telangana, claiming a significant scam has occurred. Reddy accused Chief Minister Revanth Reddy of mismanaging funds and secretly awarding tenders to select individuals. Reddy criticized the Chief Minister for allegedly attempting to privately allocate tenders worth crores of rupees and questioned the motive behind these actions. He challenged the Chief Minister to address the conspiracy he claims is behind these dealings, stating, “I want to ask the Chief Minister why you are attempting to secretly give tenders to certain people. Today we have posed a challenge to all the conspiracy behind this. Congress and Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) are old friends. They have tried killing democracy. What they are doing is undemocratic.” Earlier in the week, Union Minister G Kishan Reddy also targeted both the BRS and Congress parties, accusing them of colluding and swapping allegiances whenever political power shifts. Reddy claimed that the BJP stands apart from both parties and is committed to the people, criticizing the perceived political maneuvering between Congress and BRS. He emphasized that both parties are effectively the same, noting past alliances and the interchange of leaders between Congress and BRS. According to Reddy, the Congress government is now engaging in the same corrupt practices that characterized the previous BRS administration, alleging that both parties are involved in “looting” the people of Telangana.
