New Delhi: The firing incident on All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief and Lok Sabha MP from Hyderabad Asaduddin Owaisi has been strongly condemned by all politicians. Leaders of all political parties have said in one voice that violence has no place in a democracy. In the same vein, BJP Rajya Sabha member Subramanian Swamy has also condemned the incident, saying that only irrational fundamentalists would want to kill MP Owaisi. Swamy tweeted that Owaisi is a patriot even though he is not a nationalist. BJP MP Subramanian Swamy, who has often been in the news for his statements and arguments, said only radicals who do not believe in the logic tradition would want to kill MP Owaisi. Owaisi may not be a nationalist but he is a patriot. The only difference is that Owaisi will protect our country, but he does not believe that the Hindus and Muslims of India have the same DNA. We must confront their outspoken arguments and not people should come down to barbarism.' BJP MP Swamy has given this opinion on Owaisi before. In 2016, he had said that Owaisi is a patriot because he also defends India abroad. However, he is not a nationalist because they do not accept their ancestors as Hindus. On Thursday evening, mp Asaduddin Owaisi's car was fired at the Chhijarsi toll plaza while returning from Meerut during the election campaign in Uttar Pradesh. However, the UP police have arrested the two accused who opened fire.
