BJP nominates Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting L Murugan to Rajya Sabha from Madhya Pradesh

Chennai : The BJP on Saturday nominated Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting L Murugan to the Rajya Sabha from Madhya Pradesh. Thanking the BJP leaders, Murugan said in a tweet, "I am very grateful to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP National President JP Nadda, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Madhya Pradesh BJP President VD Sharma and party cadre for this blessing. Am. Opportunity to serve the people."

Loganathan Murugan is an Indian politician and lawyer. On 7 July 2021, he was made the Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, before that he was the state president of the Tamil Nadu unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Murugan was born in a Telugu speaking Arunthathiyar family. 

He was born on 29 May 1977 in Konnur, Namakkal district of Tamil Nadu to L Varudammal, Loganathan. Murugan earned a law degree from the Dr. Ambedkar Law College, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, and went on to pursue his master's and PhD degrees at the University of Madras. During this time he also joined the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad and later the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.
