Lucknow: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced its candidate for the by-election to the Mainpuri Lok Sabha seat in Uttar Pradesh. The BJP has given a ticket to Raghuraj Shakya from Mainpuri parliamentary seat. BJP's Raghuraj Shakya, who is pitted against Samajwadi Party (SP) candidate Dimple Yadav from Mainpuri Lok Sabha seat, is counted as a very special person of Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party (PSP) national president Shivpal Yadav. Akash Saxena to contest from Rampur assembly seat:- At the same time, BJP has fielded Akash Saxena in the by-election to the Rampur Assembly seat. Akash Saxena had fought a long legal battle against former minister and Samajwadi Party (SP) strongman Azam Khan, for which he has been rewarded. The Rampur seat fell vacant after Azam Khan was sentenced to three years in jail. Vikram Saini's wife gets a ticket from Khatauli:- On the other hand, the BJP has fielded Rajkumari Saini, wife of former MLA Vikram Saini, from the Khatauli seat in Muzaffarnagar district. Vikram Saini was sentenced to two years in jail for hate speech, due to which he had to leave his seat. Now the BJP has given a ticket to Vikram Saini's wife from this seat.
