Dehradun: Former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Tirath Singh Rawat spoke openly on the issue of commission in the state. He said- I have been the CM and perhaps I should not say so. But I have no hesitation in accepting that when we were separated from UP, up to 20 per cent commission was given for public works there. 

Further, Rawat said- After the separate state, the commission should have ended. But this practice continued. We started with a 20 per cent commission. Let us tell you that Uttarakhand was carved out of Uttar Pradesh in the year 2000. BJP MP from Pauri Rawat said that I have been told that nothing can be done here (Uttarakhand) without paying commission. Commissioning was a practice in UP, but unfortunately, it continued in Uttarakhand as well. 

However, Tirath Singh Rawat said that no one can be held responsible for this. This is the mindset. He said that commission theft from Uttarakhand will end only when we will start seeing the state as our family. Tirath Singh Rawat was the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand from March 2021 to July 2021. However, he had commented on women wearing ripped jeans when he was the chief minister. Thereafter, he was also severely criticized. Rawat had also described PM Narendra Modi as the incarnation of Lord Shri Ram and Krishna.
