NEW DELHI: On Sunday, Bhartiya Janta Party president Amit Shah accused NCP chief Sharad Pawar of spreading falsehoods, claiming that he was doing so because of his party's falling fortunes and family fights over seats. Your party's falling fortunes and family fights over seats is making you nervous and spread falsehoods," he tweeted. The BJP chief added, "Talking of quitting, remember why you quit Congress and what you did thereafter?" While referring to the incident of leaving Congress with the issue of Sonia Gandhi's foreign origin in Sharad Pawar's year in 1999, recalled that on leaving the Congress, why did you leave Congress? What did you do after this Let me tell you that Pawar then formed the Nationalist Congress Party but in Maharashtra, he had formed a government with the support of Congress. Earlier, Mr. Pawar had claimed that Manohar Parrikar returned to Goa and quit as defense minister as he did not agree with the Rafale deal, in which the opposition has alleged corruption. Manohar Parrikar, who died last month of cancer, had said that he always wanted to work in Goa.
