'BJP should also announce that names of Godse, Apte, Madanlal will not be in the banned list': Owaisi

Kolhapur: All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Saturday attacked the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over the Kolhapur incident. "When you have banned 44 organisations and mentioned it in the First Schedule of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, similarly ban names like Aurangzeb, Babur, Khilji, Bahadur Shah Zafar, Shah Jahan, Jahangir, Quli Qutub Shah and mention them as a list," he said. Names cannot be used.

In fact, three boys in Kolhapur had posted a WhatsApp status praising Aurangzeb and creating a dispute between two communities, which went viral. Against this, Hindu organizations had called for a Kolhapur bandh. In this case, Owaisi said that if putting a photo is a crime, then tell me under which section of the Indian Penal Code this crime has been described. "Just like you have issued a prohibited list, make a list of names to be banned and declare that no one's name can be 'Asaduddin Owaisi' as he makes inflammatory speeches. Owaisi said the BJP should also declare that the names of Godse, Apte, Madanlal will not be in the prohibited list as they are dear."

Owaisi said the BJP was defaming Islam in Maharashtra. He said that the BJP is conducting 50-50 processions to defame Muslims. Owaisi alleged that the BJP is conspiring to cause riots in Maharashtra before next year's Lok Sabha elections. Owaisi said, "Whom is Fadnavis calling aurangzeb's son? Fadnavis should tell who is Godse's son? The BJP talks about love jihad. But we ask who Apte and Madan Lal Pahwa are, do they even know? Owaisi said that these people along with Godse had killed Mahatma Gandhi. Owaisi levelled several allegations against Apte and Madanlal Pahwa."
