Bjp worker stabbed to death in Kerala, suspects radical outfit PFI

Kochi: A case of stabbing to death of a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) worker in Thrissur district of Kerala has come to light. The deceased has been identified as 35-year-old Koppara Biju. According to Chavakkad police, Biju had returned from the Middle East about two months ago and used to earn a living by selling pet pigeons near the Manathala Nagaiakshi temple.

According to reports, a man named Sajeevan had a fight with a gang of people near biju's temporary shop on Sunday morning. It is feared that the gang killed Biju as a living. Police said they will look at CCTV footage of the area for investigation. Meanwhile, a police team is camping in Chavakkad. The BJP had on Monday declared a strike in Chavakkad municipality and Kadappuram panchayat to protest biju's death.

There are also reports that activists of the hard-line Islamic organisation PFI and its political organisation SDPI killed Biju on October 31 at Chavakkad in Manthala in Thrissur district. There was no political or religious tension in the area where the heinous act took place. The incident is seen as an attempt by Islamic forces to disturb communal harmony.
