Blinken’s Call with Pakistani FM Bilawal Bhutto Zardari

WASHINGTON: In a phone conversation with Pakistan's Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken congratulated Washington and Islamabad on their 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations.

during the call on Wednesday, the  State Department said "the two sides "reaffirmed our mutual goals for improving US-Pakistan bilateral cooperation on economic stability, climate, and health."  The Department of State added that "the Secretary and the Foreign Minister also discussed coordination to lessen the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan, regional stability, business and people-to-people ties, and the devastating effects of (Russian President Vladimir) Putin's unprovoked war on Ukraine on food security in Pakistan and worldwide."

Bilawal told Blinken he anticipated a "regular exchange of high-level visits" to realise the full potential of bilateral cooperation across a wide range of fields, said the  Foreign Office in Islamabad.

Considering the demographic and economic potential of Pakistan, the Foreign Minister said that the United states may invest in the South Asian nation's growing market. It also added that future engagement and meetings between the two countries would give further impetus to trade and commercial ties.
