BMW has launched a new variant in the X3 line-up namely the 20d M Sport @ Rs.69.90 lakh (ex-showroom). This makes it Rs.2.6 lakh more expensive than the existing 20d Luxury Edition. BMW has discontinued the petrol-powered X3 entirely and the 630d variant from the Six Series line-up apart from rejigging the variants of the 5 Series sedan. The X3 20d Luxury Edition has a more subdued exterior than the M Sport, which has sharper front and rear bumpers, a blacked-out window frame, a blacked-out roof rail, a blacked-out diffuser, and 20-inch alloy wheels with blue brake callipers. Brushed aluminium trim and a leather steering wheel are the only interior improvements. The X3 20d M Sport comes equipped with a 12.3-inch touchscreen, 360-degree camera, Harman Kardon sound system, heads-up display, and ambient lighting, among other amenities. The X3 20d M Sport's powertrain remains unchanged, with a 2.0-liter diesel engine producing 190 horsepower and 400 Nm while being mated to an 8-speed automated transmission to drive all four wheels. An eight-speed automatic transmission and a 252hp, 2.0-liter turbo-petrol engine were both prior options for the X3. As BMW has removed this engine from its lineup, the X3 is now a diesel-only SUV. As a result, the X3 is the only SUV in its class without a gasoline engine. In May, BMW is slated to unveil the new-generation M2 coupe, which will be the first BMW to be sold with a manual transmission in India. The automaker will also unveil the facelifted Z4 convertible in the same month, while the facelifted X5 SUV will probably debut in August.
