The gruesome killing of Shraddha caught everyone’s attention. The accused Aftab Poonevala killed his live-in partner and chopped her into the pieces. The case created a ruckus all over as the accused was Muslim and various people claimed it a case of Love Jihad. Sony Entertainment Television (SET)’s widely popular crime anthology series ‘Crime Patrol’ televised the horrifying case of Shraddha Walker’s murder by her live-in boyfriend Aftab but it led people in disappointed as the serial distorted the facts and changed the religious identities of the victim and the culprit. It is common in crime serials to change the name to not to reveal the name but in this case they not only changed the name but also the religion of the accused. The episode of ‘Crime Patrol’ portrayed the victim, Shraddha Walkar, as a Christian girl named ‘Anna Fernandes’, while, Aftab Poonawalla, a Muslim man was depicted as ‘Mihir’ in the crime anthology series. The duo is also seen marrying at a temple in the episode. The episode shows the duo based out of Pune, even though Aftab and Shraddha were based out of Delhi, where the former brutally killed her and later severed her body parts to be discarded at different places across the NCR region The episode shows Mihir’s mother as a devout Hindu, an implicit hint that he belonged to a Hindu family, even though Aftab was a practising Muslim.
