BREAKING: Delhi DTC bus crashes into Christian cemetery, Wall cracked

NEW DELHI: A Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) bus on Saturday, March 4,  ran into the compound wall of a Christian cemetery at Delhi's Prithviraj Road location and damaged the wall and graves, the police said.

The incident happened on Saturday morning at 6:50 a.m., said the police. No one has yet been killed or hurt as a result of the incident.

As per police statement, the bus's driver and conductor were the only people inside the vehicle at the time of the accident. 

Meanwhile, the bus is being driven out of the graveyard. The police said that a case would be filed in accordance with the relevant articles. Last month, a  DTC bus crashed into a car before hitting a subway crossing in Naraina, west Delhi injuring three people. The police had said that the bus's driver, conductor, and marshal were transported to the Metro hospital in Ranjit Nagar.It was unclear what exactly caused the accident. Bus is one of the modes of public transportation offered by Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) in New Delhi. It is the world's biggest provider of CNG-powered bus services.

The Delhi government has promoted 216 DTC drivers and conductors to the status of assistant traffic inspector. The Delhi Transport Corporation's workforce would be bolstered on several routes as a result of this decision to ensure that passengers are using genuine tickets and bus passes.
