New Delhi Prime Minister Narendra Modi said today that democratisation of technology is a key tool to help bridge the data divide. Speaking at the G20 Development Ministers’ meeting which is being held in Varanasi through video conferencing, Prime Minister Modi said, "high-quality data is critical for meaningful policymaking, efficient resource allocation, and effective public service delivery." He expressed alarm over the widening data gap. Development is a major concern for the worldwide South, and the disruptions brought on by the worldwide AIDS pandemic have a significant influence on these nations, the PM said.. I firmly think that it is our joint duty to prevent the Sustainable Development Goals from being missed, and that our efforts must be all-encompassing, inclusive, equitable, and long-lasting. We should invest more in achieving the SDGs and come up with ways to reduce the hazards associated with debt that many nations confront. "Multilateral financial institutions should be reformed to expand the eligibility criteria, ensuring that finance is accessible to those in need," the prime minister stated. He also exhorted the G20 Development Ministers to research this development paradigm. It might be important as you move Agenda 2030 forward. He stated, "Gender equality and women's empowerment are crucial to achieve the SDGs" when speaking about gender equality and women. "In India, we go beyond just empowering women. Our development is run by women. The development agenda is being determined by women, who are also driving change and growth. I implore you to adopt an Action Plan for Women-Led Development that will change the game. "I extend a warm welcome to each of you to the oldest living city of the mother of democracy," Modi said in welcoming the G20 nations to Kashi. The meeting of the G20 Development Ministers is in a suitable venue. The Prime Minister expressed his delight that the G20 Development agenda had touched Kashi as well.
