Kolkata: A 25-year-old Bangladeshi girl, who is trying to cross the border illegally, has been caught by Border Security Force (BSF) personnel near the India-Bangladesh border in West Bengal. This information has been given in a statement issued by the paramilitary force. The BSF also arrested a civilian police volunteer who was allegedly helping the woman return to Bangladesh. According to the statement released by the BSF, during a routine check on Wednesday at the Hakimpur border checkpost in North 24 Parganas district, BSF soldiers found a woman suspiciously heading towards Bangladesh. According to this, BSF arrested Aaina Bibi, a resident of Khulna district of the neighboring country after not being able to present any valid travel documents. During the investigation, the woman stated that she had come to India illegally two months earlier. She told that after coming to India, she kept searching for work in Barasat area of North 24 Parganas, but after finding no work, she decided to go back to Bangladesh. According to the statement, the woman said during interrogation that a civilian police volunteer of the Swaroopnagar police station took five thousand rupees from her in return for assistance in crossing the border. After questioning, BSF handed over the woman to Swaroopnagar police.
