Captain Amarinder broke silence on mob lynching in Punjab, said...

Amritsar: Former Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh on Tuesday said that national security and Punjab's interest sits at the top of his agenda and it is expected that the next (Punjab Lok Congress) PLC-BJP government will work on it successfully. Addressing a public meeting after inducting Congress leader Jagdish Kumar Jagga into the party in Rajpura, the Captain said that both the parties are working in close coordination to ensure success in the elections.

Amarinder Singh condemned the killing of the accused of sacrilege in Darbar Sahib and Kapurthala and said that they should have been handed over to the police. The former CM said that 'No civilized society can and should not accept such killings. It is wrong to do sacrilege, but it is also wrong to kill a human being. What is this way? There is a law in this country. You take the accused to the SGPC office, interrogate him. Which way is this? This is wrong and it cannot be accepted at all.'

Replying to a question on filing an FIR against Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Bikram Singh Majithia, the captain asked on what basis the government registered a case against him. Because the drug trafficking report is still lying in a sealed envelope near the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
