Ranchi: The Jharkhand Mob Lynching Prevention Bill 2021 was passed in the Jharkhand Assembly on Tuesday. As soon as this bill was passed, the people of Muslim society expressed their gratitude to the government and even distributed sweets expressing happiness. Everyone also raised slogans in support of Hemant Soren government and celebrated this bill by coming out of homes and mosques. Afroz Alam, vice-president of Jharkhand Muslim Central Committee, said that this bill will be beneficial not only for the Muslims but for all the people of the society. Those who carry out mob lynching by taking the law in their hands, they will now be able to get punishment.

At the same time, due to the winter session in the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly, permission was given for the Mob Violence and Prevention of Mob Lynching Bill 2021 amid the walk out of BJP MLAs. On behalf of the MLAs of the opposition, a proposal for handing over this bill to the Selected Committee and amendment was also given, which was rejected. With the passage of this bill, now strict action will be taken against those who commit mob lynching in the state. According to statistics, 56 people have been victims of mob lynching in the state since 2014.

When the same bill was passed, the Treasurer of the Muslim Central Committee, Dr. Taarifi said that the bill provides for life imprisonment to the criminals, but those who carried out such an incident should be hanged. He told that in all the cases that have come to the fore, only the people of Muslim religion have been victims of mob lynching. They have neither been given proper compensation nor any other arrangement has been made.
