New Delhi: Passengers travelling by train are going to get a big relief. Railways have decided to start catering service once again with cooked food in Rajdhani, Shatabdi, Duronto, Vande Bharat, Tejas and Gatiman Express trains. This has been reported by the Railway Board. Orders have also been issued to all concerned departments in the matter. The order said the matter has been thoroughly tested and food surveys will be conducted again in trains. According to the order, Zonal Railways will upload the list on PRS software after discussing the price related to catering service. The service will start from December 27. The order states that, 'At present it will be applicable only to Rajdhani, Shatabdi, Duronto, Vande Bharat, Tejas and Gatiman Express class trains. Some instructions have been issued to the service provider for passengers who have already booked tickets.' IRCTC will inform the concerned Zonal Railways about the exact date from when the food related services in the special train will be resumed for passengers coming within the ARP. Passengers will be able to go to the website and order food as per their mind. This will be facilitated on the website. IRCTC have been advised to inform passengers booking e-tickets through SMS and e-mail about the introduction of catering service. Similarly, zonal railways will inform passengers who have booked tickets through PRS through SMS.
